Auditions held in the North Auditorium
Thursday and Friday August 23 and 24, 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday August 25, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Callbacks on Monday August 27 after school until we finish!
Performance Dates: October 25, 26, 27 (matinee and evening performances on Saturday)
Rehearsals: Starting Wednesday August 29, afterschool until 5:30 all Tuesdays through Fridays and most Saturday mornings 9:00 – 12:00 (not all the cast will be needed for every rehearsal).
Who can audition? Elementary, middle, and high school students may audition. There will be 3 – 4 elementary or middle school age students in the cast.
What to do for auditions: All male and female high school students will audition by singing two of three song excerpts from The Sound of Music. All younger students will audition with an excerpt from the song, “The Lonely Goatherd”. There will be an accompanist provided by the school for your audition.
Songs are available for you to download at the following links:
Will there be a participation fee? Because of the expense required to produce a musical (royalties, costumes, etc.), each participant is required to pay a $50.00 participation fee.
IMPORTANT: Because the musical is an afterschool, extra-curricular activity, each participant must not let their grades fall low enough to be on the probation list. If you find yourself on the list during the performance dates you will not be allowed to perform. Past grades will be considered when casting for the lead roles.
