AHS Family School and DE Family Invite: 2012 Opening Assembly

The First Day of School for American Heritage School Students and The Family School – Homeschooling families is this Monday, August 27th, 2012.  We would like to invite all homeschooling families that are able to come to American Heritage School in American Fork, UT  to join us in the celebration of the first day of school assembly  in the morning. This fun and memorable event will be a great start to a new school year for you and your children.

Peter Knecht will be at the main entrance at 8:30 a.m. welcoming all homeschooling families.

The opening assembly for K-6 students will begin with a flag ceremony at the flagpole at 8:40 a.m.

The opening ceremony includes:
  • patriotic songs
  • prayer around the flag pole
  • flag raising
  • shooting of the canon
  • followed by a wonderful opening devotional about inviting the Spirit into their learning through committing to the Honor Code, which includes “My Gospel Standards” and For the Strength of Youth, the Two Great Commandments (Matthew 22:36-39), and “Always Honor and Serve.”
This even will end around 9:30 a.m.
Make sure and bring your cameras, it is worth it!
